Background
This project involved the design and development of the Smart Shop app to be rolled out across the country. Within this project I worked to develop both the UX and visual design direction for the app, conducting user research sessions to ensure we were capturing the needs of our users.
The app provides Sainsbury's customers with a new way of experiencing the in-store journey. Through the app users are able to simply scan their items as they shop and are able to check out on their devices without the need for queueing. This provided many challenges as a designer to ensure customers found this new experience as intuitive and easy to understand as possible, ensuring that we considered all user groups who may be using the app.
